Merkel wishes her different party successor well
At a departure ceremony after her 16 years as chancellor in Germany, Angela Merkel said to her social democratic successor, "I wish you, dear Olaf Schotz and the government you will lead, all the best and a lucky hand and much success." We once talked this way in the US also.
“Great replacement” in France
The Times reports today that in a recent poll in France, 61% of French respondents said they believe that Europe's white population would be subjected to a "great replacement" by Muslim immigrants. Scary.
Proposal to give all foreign researchers permanent residence in Sweden

Another anti-immigrant presidential candidate in France
A second far-right candidate has announced for the presidential elections – opposes immigrants and Muslims. Amazingly, he is Jewish – many of those in France who support such views are anti-Semitic.
Restrictions on unvaccinated in Germany
Under a new agreement in Germany among the chancellor, the incoming chancellor from a different party, and state governors, the unvaccinated will not be allowed in public except for except for grocery and pharmacy shopping. The incoming chancellor has has said he will institute a vaccine mandate in Germany. I agree with all of this.
