Jailing Anthony Fauci
Ted Cruz has said at the Conservative Political Action Committee convention that Anthony Fauci should be jailed. A great contribution to reasoned political debate.
Putin’s peanut gallery
Marjorie Taylor Greene has stated she believes the US is "driving" the war in Ukraine. Putin's peanut gallery is back in action.
Declining support for US aid to Ukraine
Public support for aid to Ukraine has declined from 60% last May to 48% now.
Israeli demonstrators and Israeli flag
It is moving to me to see the Israeli flag being carried by demonstrators against the Netanyahu judicial changes. Seeing the beautiful blue and white flag of Israel has always made my heart flutter, it is so wonderful to see it unfurled in defense of Israeli democracy.
Pricey US chips
The Times has another article on the Chips legislation. The article points out that chip production in the US is far more expensive than in many other countries (such as Taiwan). Is that an argument for the subsidies that are being provided or against it? I would say against, what do others believe?
Prohibiting ESG investments
Congress has passed a bill to prohibit pension funds from investing using ESG (environmental, social, corporate governance) criteria. If a law required using such criteria, I would object. I object equally strongly to prohibiting such behaviors. Anti-"wokeism" gone amuck.
Hong Kong school with mainland curriculum
Hong Kong is establishing its first school that will teach a fully mainland curriculum. Just what Hong Kong needs.
Starbucks and its workers
An administrative law judge has ordered Starbucks to rehire employees fired for engaging in union organizing efforts authorized by law. I remain a fan of Starbucks coffee but hope that customers will speak up to demand fair treatment for their workers.
Aioli
Was talking about aioli with someone. They said, "In the olden days we used to call this thousand islands dressing."
