Steve Kelman on politics, culture, and life
Welcome to Steve Kelman on politics, culture, and life by me, Steve Kelman. Harvard Kennedy School professor, does research on improving government performance. Also strong amateur interest in China and learning Chinese. Speak Swedish fluently, also decent French and German. Working on Spanish is one of my retirement goals. Internationalist, moderate Democrat, proud to consider myself citizen of the world. Poverty upsets me.
Love Asian food. Live outside Boston, winter apartment in Miami. Cancer survivor.
This will be a blog that will reprint many of my Facebook posts in these areas. Most will be short and, I hope, snappy. I expect to publish several times a week. Not a heavy lift for you as a reader. Hope you will find it fun.
I will always use a respectful tone, no insults. Respectful comments/dialogue welcome on this page — respectful disagreement great, this is what democracy and tolerance are about. Screaming not OK.
Guessing that 60% of my comments will be about politics. Don’t like extremists. Thought that recent Kevin McCarthy comment about shutting down tech companies for complying with congressional request for records about the January 6 insurrection was just appalling.
